Which means incorporating Dutch Lady Full Cream milk powder into the recipe adds a creamy depth of flavour. In fact, milk is the absolute key ingredient to making good burfis.

Burfis are extremely versatile and can be paired with virtually any warm beverage, especially a warm cup of milk or masala tea. The burfi flavour can also be enhanced when adding in some nuts, dried fruits, or even coconut shavings.

Just follow these simple steps and you’ll have yourself a plate of burfis that will inevitably be devoured in minutes!



  • ¼ cup ghee
  • ½ cup Dutch Lady milk
  • 2 cups Dutch Lady Full Cream Milk Powder
  • ½ cup powdered sugar


  • 1Heat ¼ cup ghee in a heavy bottom non-stick pan, let the ghee melt.
  • 2Add ½ cup of milk, mix both ingredients on a low flame.
  • 3Slowly add 2 cups of Dutch Lady Milk Powder, stir well to combine the milk powder.
  • 4Cook for 2-3 minutes, keep stirring non-stop until the milk begins to thicken.
  • 5Add ½ cup of powdered sugar, cook for 4-5 minutes.
  • 6Add a pinch of cardamom powder.
  • 7Once you can see the mixture turn moist, cook till the texture becomes more dry.
  • 8Take a little portion to check consistency. It should be mostly dry but a little sticky to touch.
  • 9Let the mixture cool down completely.
  • 10Add some dried fruits (pistachio, cashew nuts, almond)
